After 10 seasons, Stoke City have been relegated from the Premier League and it looks like that will signify the end of Xherdan Shaqiri’s career at the Potters.
Swiss publication, Blick are reporting that Shaqiri has a relegatio release clause in his contract of jusr £12 million. He initially signed for Stoke for the same price, but many would assume that he would be sold for much more in this modern transfer market, where players of Shaqiri’s talent are being sold at around £30 million.

Unsurprisingly, some of the Premier League clubs have been alerted to Shaqiri’s low release fee and Everton are reportedly the frontrunners to sign the ex-Bayern Munich player.
The Swiss international has been at Stoke since 2015 after joining from Inter Milan and has been one of their most important and creative players, making 83 appearances and scoring 15 goals, but it seems relegation has all but confirmed that he will leave the club this summer.
