Sampdoria star Lucas Torreira is reportedly a target for Everton this summer.
According to claims from Calciomercato, as cited by talkSPORT, the Uruguayan international is set to be hot property among potential suitors in the coming weeks.
Torreira enjoyed yet another good season in Sampdoria colours and a move to the Premier League could well be on the cards this summer, as Everton continue to be linked.
The Toffees are understood to have scouted Torreira throughout the course of last season, with preparations being made ahead of the recently-opened transfer window.
Signing Torreira is likely to be tricky for Everton given the number of teams interested in the midfielder, however, it will certainly be an affordable acquisition if reports are to be believed.
It’s stated that Torreira’s current deal at Sampdoria entails a release clause worth just £22 million, which is comfortably an affordable fee for Everton.
They may face competition from Arsenal, though, with the Gunners linked with a swoop for Torreira following his exploits in Italy throughout the course of his recent seasons.
