Marvin Plattenhardt’s agent says his client is focusing on the World Cup, amid reported interest from Everton.
Earlier this week, Sky Sports reported that Everton were interested in signing Hertha Berlin left-back Plattenhardt, with the Toffees having been in the market for a left-sided full-back for quite some while.
Now, German outlet Bild have claimed that Everton’s interest in the 26-year old Germany international stretches back to January, where the club were considering making a move.
While Plattenhardt could well make a move this summer, his agent Herbert Briem has stated that first he will focus on performing for Germany at the World Cup.
As quoted by Bild, Briem said;
Good left-backs are in demand throughout Europe. But Marvin concentrates first on the World Cup. Everything else will be discussed after the tournament.
With Marco Silva and Marcel Brands now both working in tandem, it seems only a matter of time that Everton begin their summer business.
This deal though, could drag on a little longer with the World Cup now in full swing.
