Everton will compete with a number of clubs, including Tottenham and Napoli, for Barcelona midfielder André Gomes this summer, according to reports.
The 24-year old Portugal international joined the Catalan giants from Valencia in the summer of 2016, costing the current La Liga champions a total fee of €55million including add-ons.
Despite playing almost 50 games across all competitions in his first season at the Nou Camp, the former Benfica man saw his game time decrease last season as he fell out of favour with manager Ernesto Valverde.
As such, Gomes has frequently been linked with a move away from the club this summer, despite former teammate Paulinho’s return to Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande. Gomes himself is also reportedly keen on leaving the club.

According to Spanish source Mundo Deportivo, as cited by Calciomercato, Everton are one of the clubs considering offering the midfielder an exit, but the Toffees face heavy competition from several other clubs for his signature.
Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly readying a proposition of €21million to bring Gomes to Tottenham, while Lazio, Napoli and former club Valencia are also interested in doing a deal with Barça.
However, as of right now, none of the clubs have made a concrete approach, so it could come down to who is willing to shore up their interest.
