Everton are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Barcelona defender Lucas Digne.
It’s claimed by the Mirror that the Toffees have submitted a fresh offer worth £22 million for the left-back, who has endured a difficult period at Barcelona since his move from PSG.
The Frenchman remains an important part of Barcelona’s plans, it’s believed, with Ernesto Valverde regarding him as a more than adequate deputy to starting left-back Jordi Alba.

However, it seems Everton are making significant efforts to sign Digne from the La Liga champions, with a big bid having allegedly been lodged.
The Blues are keen to sign a left-back this summer as they look to add depth to their defence, with Leighton Baines currently the club’s only senior option in the position.
Marco Silva is reported to regard Digne as the ideal successor to Baines, with the former England international now in the twilight of his playing career at Goodison Park.
