New Everton signing Lucas Digne has urged his former Barcelona team-mate Yerry Mina to turn down Manchester United in favour of joining him at Goodison Park, the Metro report.
The Toffees have shown a strong interest in bringing the Colombian to Merseyside all summer, however, they have yet to meet Barcelona’s £40 million valuation for the defender.

Premier League rivals Manchester United are now favourites to sign the highly rated defender who impressed at this year’s World Cup, after cooling their interest in Tottenham Hotspur centre back Toby Alderweireld.
However, French full back Digne who recently completed his move to Everton for a fee worth £20 million, has revealed that he has personally contacted Mina trying to persuade him to join him at Goodison Park ahead of the new season.
I hope to see him here but I don’t know really! He’ll choose the best for his career and we’ll see. I said to him to come but we’ll see. Really I don’t know. He’s a good player and a good guy.
With the transfer window set to slam shut in five days, both Everton and Manchester United look set to do battle for the 23-year-old’s services.
