Everton have reportedly lined up LOSC Lille centre-back Adama Soumaoro as a contingency plan in case their pursuit of Barcelona defender Yerry Mina falls through.
The Toffees have been actively looking to recruit a new central defender throughout the transfer window but have had no such luck as of yet.
Mina, who enjoyed a strong World Cup campaign with Colombia, is understood to be Everton’s top defensive target. However, Lyon are not letting up in their pursuit of the Barcelona star, leaving the Toffees in the dark over Mina’s preferred destination.

This appears to have led the club to formulate alternative options should their move for Mina amount to nothing. According to Paris United, as covered by GFFN, Soumaoro has emerged as a target.
Everton are believed to have already initiated contact with Lille to discuss the possibility of a move, with Soumaoro having impressed for the Ligue 1 outfit last term.
However, Lille will not part with their starting centre-back for a cheap fee. It’s stated that Soumaoro will cost at least €18 million this summer.
