Everton have secured the signing of Bernard on a free transfer, according to an exclusive report from the Daily Mail.
It’s claimed that the Brazilian wide man will join Everton for free, subject to a work permit being granted, following the expiration of his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk this summer.
Bernard had been courted by a number of clubs across Europe, including Premier League duo West Ham and Chelsea, according to claims from the Mail.

However, Marco Silva’s side appear to have stolen a march on their rivals in the race to sign Bernard, with the deal apparently ‘on the brink’ of being confirmed by the club.
The Daily Mail’s report indicates that a personal effort from Silva to convince Bernard that Goodison Park is the perfect next destination for him as a player was a contributing factor in the Brazilian’s decision to join.
Bernard, 26, has already amassed a total of 14 caps at international level for his native Brazil.
