Everton are confident of landing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma as they look for defensive reinforcements, the Mirror reports.
The Toffees are interested in securing a loan deal for the 23-year-old having failed to secure deals for Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo and Barcelona’s Yerry Mina.
Everton boss Marco Silva has desperately been searching to improve his central defensive options this summer, with Phil Jagielka and Michael Keane his only two current options for the position.
Mason Holgate has been out injured during pre-season and Silva has already allowed Ashley Williams to leave and join Championship side Stoke City on a season-long loan.
Ramiro Funes Mori has also left the Toffees to join up with Villarreal.
Now turning his attention to Zouma, Silva is hopeful of bringing the French defender to Goodison Park before tomorrow’s 5pm deadline.
Zouma spent last season on loan at Stoke where he started 32 games as Stoke suffered relegation from the Premier League.
