Everton have endured rotten luck with injury problems in the early periods of the new season and this trend looks set to continue, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin the latest player to sustain a knock.
The young forward came on as a substitute for England’s Under-21 side as they defeated Latvia U21s 2-1. However, Calvert-Lewin was almost immediately forced off with injury, hobbling off gingerly.

Calvert-Lewin, 21, joins a growing list of injury problems that Marco Silva has been forced to contend with. At the top end of the pitch, Theo Walcott is nursing a rib injury and Richarlison remains out of contention as his suspension nears its conclusion.
Although the extent of the injury that Calvert-Lewin has sustained is unknown at this stage, the news of his knock is sure to come as a blow to Everton, with the casualties stacking up.
Silva will be hoping that Calvert-Lewin’s injury is a minor one and that the young striker will be available for Everton’s encounter with West Ham in the Premier League this weekend.
