Everton manager Marco Silva has showered plenty of praise on duo Yerry Mina and Jordan Pickford after the 0-0 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
As reported on HITC, the Toffees defended brilliantly to keep a clean sheet against Maurizio Sarri’s free-flowing side.
This was Mina’s first start in the Premier League for Everton since joining the club after the World Cup and he proved exactly why he deserves his place in the team.
The Colombian international handled Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata very well throughout the match and Silva was delighted with him. Goalkeeper Pickford was also alert and made a couple of good saves to help his side earn a point.

Silva said:
He [Mina] did everything I expected. He showed his quality, was very good on the ball and off the ball as well. I think he did really well.
Jordan’s performance is good news for England and good news for us.
This was a stern test for the Everton defence but they proved that they can grind out a result as they now sit in ninth place in the league table.
