Everton have entered the race to sign Boca Juniors star Wilmar Barrios, having previously shown an interest last summer.
That’s according to Gol Caracol, via Sport Witness, who claim the 25-year-old is being watched by the Blues.
Boca are believed to be willing to listen to offers, with president Daniel Angelici telling Argentine radio:
No offer has come for Barrios, he has a clause of €23m and is non-transferable, if a club puts the money in, they will have to talk to the player, but if he wants to go there’s nothing we can do.
Tottenham are the Premier League club being linked the most with Barrios, who has won 16 caps for Colombia.
Everton now know the price that will be able to prise the midfielder away from Boca, however, which is sure to be tempting.
Barrios has reportedly spoken of his desire to play in Europe, as he looks to go up a level.
