Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly opened talks with Everton over a potential deal for Idrissa Gana Gueye.
It is claimed by French news outlet Foot Mercato that Thomas Tuchel’s side have stepped up their interest in signing the midfielder as they increase their efforts to strengthen their squad.
Gueye has been heavily linked with a move to Paris in recent weeks but Everton are understood to be reluctant to sanction the player’s sale midway through the season.

Foot Mercato’s report indicates that the Senegal international is keen to depart Goodison Park as he eyes a move to the Ligue 1 giants in the January transfer window.
However, the 29-year-old is unwilling to cause conflict between himself and the Toffees’ management and is prepared to put his transfer wishes aside this month if he is not allowed to leave.
Everton do not want to sell Gueye but if they are to be forced into letting the midfielder go, it is reported that they will not listen to offers worth less than €40 million.
