I mean this with little overstatement, but that was absolutely Everton’s best 90-minute display since we beat City 4-0 those many moons ago.
Not once did West Ham look threatening in any way, and even if they would have, I have no doubt that Zouma and Keane would have easily stopped them with little effort. Every player had their best stuff on display today, not one player could be labelled as a liability, which has too often been the case this season.
A performance like this puts us firmly back in the chase for European football next season, which is genuinely ludicrous given our position post-Christmas crisis season.
But it is what it is. Barring a horrendous collapse at Newcastle, Mr Silva has nothing less than inspired this Everton side. We are one of the form sides in the league, and coming away with an excellent result to take into the Arsenal game next weekend.
