Pundit duo Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville both believe Everton will challenge for a top six spot this season, with the former Liverpool defender claiming Moise Kean will be the young player to watch over the course of the campaign.
The Toffees have strengthened over the course of the transfer window and are in a solid position to mount a charge on the top six, with Chelsea’s frailties and Arsenal’s defensive issues marking them both as potential candidates to fall outside the elite group.
Quite whether the Blues will have enough to sustain that challenge over the course of the season remains to be seen, with the club’s lack of defensive depth a potential problem in the making, should serious injury strike at any point.
Regardless of that, several fans of the club took to Twitter to comment on the words of Carragher and Neville.

Read Everton Verdict
I’ve publicly stated my skepticism for this seasons chances at breaking the top six, but it can only be positive to hear pundits praise the work Everton have done – unless it really does turn out to be the kiss of death.
Everton have undoubtedly strengthened during this transfer window, and while it may not be enough in the long run, we don’t know that yet. We can hope and dream that Marco Silva can take each game at a time, connecting one result to the next until we’re perhaps in a much stronger position that we thought we would be.
