We covered the story yesterday that Farhad Moshiri has no plans to sack Marco Silva just yet, and why this is potentially a positive sign.
Moshiri’s faith in the manager suggests that he isn’t prepared to make knee-jerk decisions like other Premier League owners, which is risky of course, but it can prove to be beneficial.
Silva’s side have lost their last four Premier League fixtures and they will be hoping to turn their season around against West Ham following the international break.

While some fans will have been pleased to hear that Moshiri wasn’t likely to make a snap judgement on Silva’s long-term viability as Everton manager, other sections of the fan base were frustrated to hear the news.
Many fans have already made their minds up about the Everton boss, with a large number of fans calling for Moshiri to swing the axe before Everton’s on-field record gets worse.
Reacting to the news on social media, fans expressed their disappointment and frustrations with the Everton owner’s decision.

Personally, I admire Moshiri’s stance on sacking Silva. While I’m not necessarily saying it is the right decision to make, I do feel it sets a positive precedent down that he won’t wantonly sack manager at will, like other owners do, like at Watford for example.
Sure, we could look back at think that it was a huge mistake, but I respect that is willing to give someone a final chance. That being said, if he isn’t gone in two weeks time following two more losses, then questions will need to be asked.
For now, I like that Moshiri wants to trust Silva. Hopefully it pays off in the long run.
