Real Madrid will reportedly allow striker Mariano Diaz to leave for a cut-price fee once the January transfer window opens.
The 26-year old forward has struggled for consistent game time at the Bernabeu since returning to the Spanish capital in 2018.
Mariano left Madrid for Lyon in the summer of 2017 and after scoring 21 goals in his debut season in first-team competitive football, Los Blancos decided to activate their buy-back clause.
Now Mariano finds himself having been frozen out under Zinedine Zidane, with Madrid willing to let Mariano go for just €15million in January, according to El Desmarque.
Everton have been linked with Mariano in the past, both as a Lyon player and as a Madrid player, and TBR have tentatively linked the club with a possible January move if their goalscoring situation doesn’t improve.
Moise Kean is still searching for his debut goal, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is inconsistent and Cenk Tosun looks set to leave the club in the near future, so Everton could look to bring in more firepower in that area of the field.

At this moment in time the links are very tentative, and the story could potentially amount to nothing.
However if Everton are intending on searching for forward options in January, they could do much worse than focus on Mariano.
The 26-year old has shown through his Lyon spell that he has plenty of quality to offer, maybe not enough to succeed at Madrid, but plenty to do well in the Premier League.
For such a low fee too, Everton would be foolish not to consider an approach for the Spaniard.
