Everton have been offered former Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, according to reports.
The 25-year old has fallen out of favour with Bundesliga outfit Schalke, having not been part of the first-team for a year due to his ‘unprofessional behaviour’.
The Algeria international now wants to return to the Premier League, and Everton have touted as one possible destination, with Schalke having offered the Toffees to take the midfielder to Goodison Park.

This is according to the Times, who claim that Bentaleb is desperate to move back to the Premier League, where he played almost 50 games for Spurs.
Sky Sports also report that Crystal Palace are in for Bentaleb, although the Eagles haven’t yet made a formal approach to sign the midfielder.
Aston Villa have also been offered the chance to sign Bentaleb, so Everton will need to move with haste if they decide that this is a deal worth exploring.

Everton’s principle sticking point over a prospective deal for Nabil Bentaleb has to be his attitude problem, which is something the club certainly does not need at Finch Farm right now.
The Toffees have their own problems coping with the mentality of the current squad, coaxing confidence from those who are underperforming and trying to ease tensions between the players and the fans. They do not need to add another problem seed into the mix.
Bentaleb has failed to kick-on since he showed promise at Tottenham as a young academy graduate, and having not played a lick of football this season, the Algerian isn’t the man to ease Everton’s midfield woes.
