Everton defender Matthew Pennington joined Championship side Hull City on a season-long loan deal last summer.
The defender has had to remain patient to secure a starting position for Grant McCann’s side but his fortunes seem to have changed.
As stated on Everton’s official website, the 25-year-old graduated from the Merseyside club’s academy and has appeared nine times for the senior side.

Hull boss McCann has hailed his work rate and desire. As quoted on Hull Live, he said:
I’d spoken with Penno a couple of weeks back when there’d been some talk [about the loan being cut short] and there was nothing.
He’s really enjoying it here. We’ve never had any grief from Everton, I think they trust him with us. He’s enjoying it here and he’s just getting on with it.
He’s a tremendous professional, he really, really is. He’s one of the earliest in every day at quarter past eight. He’s there having his breakfast and he’s a terrific lad.
When he goes out there he gives everything. He’s a lovely, lovely boy and hopefully, good things will come to him.

The centre-back was struggling in the early part of the season for game time but recently, he’s been given his chance, as reported on the Liverpool Echo.
I feel that it is time for Pennington to seal a permanent move away from Everton because it will give him the chance to settle down at one club, rather than moving to new clubs every season on loan.
He’s already 25 and I believe that he doesn’t have a good chance of making it at Everton because of the quality they already have in defence, so maybe sealing a move to Hull at the end of the season wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for him.
