Cenk Tosun looks increasingly likely to find himself exiting Goodison Park before Monday’s transfer deadline as La Liga side RC Celta look to sign the Everton man.
The Turkish striker previously confirmed a willingness to return to former club Besiktas before the transfer window closes – and now a new suitor has entered the race.
The Everton striker has been the subject of interest from Besiktas and CSKA Moscow, but Tosun could make a move to Spanish football.
According to Sky Sports [Transfer Centre, 29/01/21, 10:33am] La Liga side RC Celta have joined the race for Tosun’s signature.
A move to Vigo would see Tosun link up with former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas, whilst he would be joined by fellow Turkish international Okay Yokuslu.
Celta are currently say in 10th place in La Liga and look to be challenging for a European spot.
The 29-year-old was previously speaking to NTV Spor (as relayed by The Guardian) over the possibility of a return to the Istanbul giants:
“If Everton and Besiktas have an agreement, I am ready to wear the black and white jersey again.
“I would like to contribute to Besiktas until the end of the season.
“If Everton approves the transfer, it will not be a problem for me.”
Hailed as ‘excellent’ by Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish during his curtailed loan spell last year, Tosun is very much keen to get back to consistent form.

A move to La Liga could compete heavily with a desire to return back to Turkey.
The quality of La Liga is undeniable and competing with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, with respect, is a greater challenge than that of Sivasspor and Gaziantep.
At 29, Tosun knows he still has a portion of his career left ahead of him, and Celta’s interest could push back his desire for a Turkish return for a few years.
