Carlo Ancelotti has already declared himself open to the possibility of new Everton signing Josh King extending his stay at Goodison Park.
The 29-year-old’s deadline day move from Bournemouth was confirmed in the early hours of Tuesday morning in one of the latest major Premier League deals to be completed.
The Norwegian forward has joined on an initial six-month deal for a ‘nominal fee’, but all parties could look to extend that depending on his performances at Goodison Park.
Ancelotti hinted at just that, refusing to close any doors to King extending his stay on Merseyside. As per Liverpool Echo, the manager said:
He has time to show his quality. Everyone would be happy to sign a new contract with him. We have these months to look for this.
I don’t know how the terms of the contract are really because I was not involved, but really he is a player with quality and a player we like.
I think that the dream for every one of us is to stay with us for a long time, for him also. He showed a strong desire to come here, it is really important for us.
I hope for him, and for us, he has a long career with us.
King will provide cover for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Moise Kean and Cenk Tosun both leaving Everton on loan since the start of the season.

An extended deal for King makes obvious sense for all parties. His record in 161 Premier League games for Bournemouth is formidable, with 48 top-flight goals for the Cherries.
If the Norway international can hit similar highs for the Toffees, he could prove a fantastic addition to supply a new edge to Everton’s attack.
