Everton and Fulham have joined West Ham in the race for Blackburn Rovers marksman Adam Armstrong, who is currently enjoying a prolific spell of form in the Championship.
The Newcastle United academy product is unsurprisingly a man in demand as one of the leading scorers in the second tier, his tally surpassed only by Ivan Toney of Brentford.
The Tyneside-born marksman already has 18 goals to his name this season and the latest reports have indicated that West Ham were close to lodging an £8m bid for the home-grown forward in January.
The Hammers are not the only suitors for his signature; Everton now appear to be firmly in the hunt for the 23-year-old’s services in a bid to rejuvenate their forward options. It is claimed that Blackburn would be ready to sanction a sale if they fail to achieve promotion to the Premier League this season.
The Toffees already boast the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison as centre-forward options, whilst the deeper-lying Joshua King joined on transfer deadline day for a ‘nominal fee’.

With King only signing on an initial six-month deal, it will be up to all parties to review whether keeping the 29-year-old at Goodison Park for longer is a deal worth executing.
If the Toffees end up releasing the Norwegian, Armstrong could be an affordable home-grown option to come in as an instant replacement. Aside from a natural goal-scoring instinct, the 23-year-old is noted for his nimble movement and good agility which makes him a more pacey option than Calvert-Lewin, who functions more as a target man.
In that sense, Blackburn failing to achieve promotion in May could be an opportune moment for Everton to strengthen.
