Everton To Revisit Max Aarons Interest in Summer Window

Everton could go toe-to-toe with Bundesliga and Champions League title holders Bayern Munich as the Toffees revitalise their interest in Norwich City’s Max Aarons.

In a move that would see the right-back reunite at Goodison Park with his former teammate in Ben Godfrey, transfer market expert and journalist Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed the Toffees’ fervent interest.

Everton maintained interest in Aarons during the January transfer window but were put off by the Canaries’ reported £35 million valuation of the player.

Aarons is under contract at Carrow Road until 2024, and Daniel Farke’s side will be under no pressure to sell.

The recent revelation that Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is prepared to back Ancelotti with a £100 million summer transfer war chest could change that context however, and a big-money move to bring Aarons to Goodison Park could headline a summer spending spree.

However, Max Aarons may be lured elsewhere with the allure of an untested league for him that offers regular Champions League football.

Romano issued the update on the race for the home-grown talent:

‘Everton are interested in Max Aarons as potential target for the next transfer window. He’s in the list (sic), as Ancelotti is looking for a new right-back’.

‘It’s gonna be a long race: Bayern Münich have already opened talks with Norwich to sign Aarons, Man Utd scouted him too’.

Having almost joined Barcelona by his own admission, Aarons is clearly a coveted figure by elite European footballing giants and is seen as having top-level potential.

Securing European football and the personal relationship enjoyed with Ben Godfrey at Norwich could be decisive if Everton are to fend off competitors for his signature.
