Everton fans optimistic over chances of Max Aarons deal

Many Everton fans are feeling optimistic that the right conditions exist to bring top Toffees target Max Aarons to Goodison Park.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Everton could rival Bundesliga and Champions League title holders Bayern Munich for the English right-back’s signature.

A move to Merseyside would see the right-back reunite with his former teammate Ben Godfrey, with the pair playing alongside one another with Norwich in the Premier League last season.

Everton maintained interest in Aarons during the January transfer window but were put off by the Canaries’ reported £35m valuation of the player. That context could change as a result of recent reports detailing that Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is prepared to unleash a £100m influx of transfer funds to bolster Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Aarons is under contract at Carrow Road until 2024, and the Canaries will be under no pressure to sell. A big-money move to bring the 21-year-old to Goodison Park may be the only means possible of seeing him in a Blues shirt, and his move could form the cornerstone of a wider squad rebuild in the summer.

Many Everton fans were optimistic that he could arrive, citing Godfrey as a major differential over other interested parties as Bayern Munich and Manchester United, with one fan hoping he will have the “good sense” to plump for a move to Merseyside:
