‘Almost a done deal’ – Carlo Ancelotti’s shock move to Real Madrid from Everton edges closer

Despite recent reports fro the man himself, Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is just steps away from leaving.

The Italian has initially branded rumours over the Real Madrid job as ‘good publicity’ for the Spanish club.

However, it appears as though efforts from Real to pursure Ancelotti’s signature have stepped up dramatically.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein is reporting that the move is ‘almost a done deal’ much to Evertonians’ heartbreak…

The news, which Ornstein broke just moments ago, will no doubt be a tough pill for Toffees fans to swallow.

Just over a year and a half in charge now sees the Italian leave for his former club in the Spanish capital.

It had appeared at one point as though Ancelotti was set to remain at the Blues to help rebuild them into a top four side.

However, these plans and hopes have been thrown into turmoil with Ancelotti’s management attempting to release him of his contract at Everton.

It would be awful for the club to lose a manager such as Ancelotti at such a crucial time in the clubs recent history.

The Toffees had planned for his tenure to be a complete revamp, with his experience and track record of trophies a huge coup.

Despite that, it appears as though Ancelotti is happy to jump ship with the Blues failing to capitalise on a strong start to last season.

The club finished in 10th place in the Premier League, with Ancelotti keen to swap the mid-table of the Premier League for the title challenging Real Madrid.
