The past few days have been a whirlwind for Everton football club and the Toffees fan base.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti has initially dismissed rumours linking hm to the vacant Real Madrid job.
Despite this, the Italian left the Toffees on Tuesday to return to the Spanish club after just 18 months in charge.
Following his departure, Ancelotti has spoken out about his return to Madrid, and he took quite the swipe at the Toffees.
During a press conference for the Spanish club, he stated that his time at Everton was actually a success.
This was not before describing that Everton were a club fighting relegation before he took over…
As cited by DaveOCKOP on Twitter, it is incredible to see another side of Ancelotti that the Toffees never expected.
The Italian’s comments are massively disrespectful towards the club, stating that their ambitions aren’t winning trophies.
However, it is easy to remember that Ancelotti was hired at the start of a new era for the club to push them towards that.
The season before he took over Everton were nowhere near relegation as he so states.
Not only that, but if the clubs target was to qualify for Europe, which he failed to do, then how is it a success?
It has been a tough week for Everton fans and to hear these comments just digs the whole deeper.
Ancelotti jumped ship as soon as he could, and wasn’t prepared to try and dig deep to help the club.
Hopefully, Everton can find a replacement that will respect the club and their position in England.
