New Everton man Andros Townsend had his say on numerous talking points after the Toffees managed a commendable 2-0 win over Brighton.
The former Crystal Palace man, who joined from the Eagles on a free transfer earlier in the window, was routinely booed by the home fans for his past allegiances with the south coast side’s bitter rivals.
However, Townsend had the last laugh with his side’s victory and Townsend himself almost found himself on the scoresheet with a low, driven strike parried by Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
As shared on social media by sports journalist Gary Taphouse, Townsend was wowed by the performance of fellow summer signing Demarai Gray as he commented on the value for money being enjoyed from his £1.5 million price tag.

He also commented on his past in south London and the negative reception from Brighton fans.

Rafa Benitez needed an impressive start and to embed his signings into the core of the squad quickly if he was to stand a chance of winning over his doubters at Everton, and his Brighton win has confirmed just that.
Everton remain unbeaten with seven points yielded from a possible nine.
Two goals and a clean sheet made for a fine continuation of form, and seeing Townsend being all-too aware of the value for money seen from Demarai Gray is a fine testament to how well both men have gelled within the squad.
Indeed, Townsend already has an assist and a goal in Everton colours to his name and boasts a pass success rate of 68% – a more impressive stat considering his 22 pass attempts (15 completed) in just two Premier League games.
As a result, his expected assist (xA) score of 0.78 is exceed in reality – suggesting he is overperforming in terms of progressive play in attacks.
