  • The coming transfer window is set to be a busy one for Moyes and Everton.
  • With the potential of European football, new signings will be needed.
  • One man that the Blues have been linked with is Udinese’s Arthur Atta.

Everton’s 2-2 draw against Brentford kept them firmly in the race for Europe as they remained level on points with the Bees in seventh.

David Moyes was able to bring a strong squad to West London with Charly Alcaraz and of course Jack Grealish being the only two notable omissions.

The Everton boss was handed the opportunity to build his team in the last summer transfer window, and work has already begun to recruit more talent for the Scotsman’s side.

Having signed Beto from Udinese in the August 2023, the Toffees cast their eyes back to Northern Italy in the hope of attracting another one of their stars.

Everton linked with defensive midfielder Arthur Atta

Everton are reportedly interested in Udinese’s Arthur Atta according to Sport Witness.

The 23-year-old moved to Italy from Metz in 2024 on a loan deal, but made his move permament at the start of this season.

Atta has played for France at youth level, and started his career in his native country playing for Metz in both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2.

Standing at 6ft2in, the Frenchman has a proven ability at both ends of the pitch and can operate as a box-to-box midfielder.

In the last January transfer window, Atta came close to a Premier League move but Udinese rejected an approach by Fulham.

If Everton want to purchase the midfielder, a price tag of over £30 million has been paired with him.

Arthur Atta could be the ideal profile for David Moyes

Over the course of Moyes’ career, he has developed notable midfielders who have the same profile as Atta.

Udinese’s midfielder could be likened to players such as former Toffee Marouane Fellaini and Tomas Soucek who arguably played their best football under Moyes.

Both were noted for their strong presence in midfield but also had their uses in the final third and became key components in their respective teams’ attacking play.

With Atta carrying a tall presence on the pitch and highlighting his ability to pop up with goals and assists, he could add himself to the list of powerhouse midfielders that have thrived under Moyes.
