Everton have conceded 20 goals in 17 league matches away from home this season, and surprisingly have a worse defensive record at Hill Dickinson Stadium, where they have conceded 24 goals in 18 matches.
The Blues in recent matches have prided themselves on courageous performances on the road, and have gone 29 away league matches without conceding more than two goals when playing away.
If they manage to concede two or fewer against Crystal Palace, this would mean Moyes’ team will have gone 30 away matches without conceding more than two since September 2011, according to the BBC.
Everton are now a force on the road
On the surface, this stat may not seem an impressive one, but when considering Everton’s horrific away form in recent seasons, it highlights a side that is developing a bit of a backbone.
With Rafa Benitez, Frank Lampard, and Sean Dyche, there were multiple examples of the Blues falling behind and letting that goal harm them.
In turn, the floodgates would open, and the Toffees’ goal difference took a battering.
But under the leadership of Moyes, Everton are a defensive force and have managed to grind out some extremely impressive results away from home.
Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur are the two remaining away matches for the men in royal blue, with each side presenting a different challenge.
The South London outfit are fresh from a European semi final, so a more energised Everton will have to take advantage of this, whereas Spurs could be playing for Premier League survival, meaning the Blues will likely face a fired-up team in white.
