- Everton starting to weigh up targets for the summer transfer window.

Everton are starting to make moves in the transfer market, with the window now open for Premier League sides.
The Toffees’ poor end to the season saw the need for them to add quality this summer, but they will also face the task of keeping key players such as Iliman Ndiaye and Jarrad Branthwaite.
But with the academy currently undergoing an overhaul under the guidance of the new academy director, Dean Rastrick, quality could be added here, too.
One Scottish wonderkid has caught the eye of the Blues, and they are closing in on his signature.
Everton have secured Kai Hutchinson
Kai Hutchinson has been a star man for Dundee United’s youth team, but his time in Scotland could come to an end.
Everton have reportedly secured the signing of the 16-year-old, with the winger accepting a proposal from the club, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Hutchinson has attracted attention from other clubs in England, including the recently relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers.

As a winger, he has drawn interest for his ability to be dynamic on the flanks by making use of his pace to produce darting runs and sprint into gaps while on the attack.
Last December, he starred in an international friendly for Scotland U16s, after netting twice in a 3-3 draw against giants Spain.
Hutchinson is yet to make a senior appearance in football, but considering he has not signed a professional deal at Tannadice, the Toffees should be able to snatch him for a relatively low fee.
Everton’s academy overhaul
With Dean Rastrick settling into his new role as academy director and Paul Tait leaving his position as manager of the U21s side, Everton’s academy is truly being shaken up this summer.
The 2025-26 season was a mixed bag for the youth setup, as stars like Braiden Graham and George Pickford shone for the Blues; their performance in PL2 was not up to scratch, as the men in royal blue slumped to an 18th-place finish, with just seven wins from 20 matches.
So with major changes being made to the academy, fast improvement will be expected at this level in the club, with the Toffees hoping to create a talent pipeline that is comparable to clubs in the Big Six.
