Everton are working to accelerate a deal for Christian Kofane as competition for the Bayer Leverkusen striker intensifies.
The 19-year-old’s representatives are set to hold direct talks with the Toffees this week, according to Africa Foot. Everton are aware of growing interest from elsewhere and want to gain an advantage in the race for his signature by getting the process underway as soon as possible.
David Moyes’ side have already submitted an offer for the Cameroon international, moving ahead of Arsenal and several other clubs. No fee has been disclosed for their proposed offer at this stage.
Kofane joined Leverkusen from Albacete for around €5m last summer. He scored five goals and provided four assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances in 2025-26, despite starting only 12 matches. His agent, Eric Depolo, has valued him at €100m and confirmed Arsenal’s interest is serious, even though what his agent believes his value to be is irrelevant.
Leverkusen hold a strong negotiating position, though. Kofane is under contract until June 2029.
Newcastle United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also credited with interest.
Everton’s pursuit follows the signings of Tyrique George and Hayden Hackney this summer, with further business expected before the window closes on August 15.
