Everton have completed the signing of Dundee United academy forward Kai Hutchison after the clubs agreed a compensation package.
The Scottish Premiership club confirmed the move on Thursday, with the youngster leaving Tannadice to continue his development on Merseyside.
A Dundee United statement read: “Dundee United can confirm that young academy forward Kai Hutchison has joined English Premier League side Everton after the clubs agreed a compensation package.”
Neither club has disclosed the financial details of the agreement, while Everton are yet to announce the signing officially.
Hutchison is regarded as one of Dundee United’s promising academy prospects and now joins Everton’s youth set-up as the Premier League club continues to recruit talented young players from across the UK and beyond.
The move represents another step in Everton’s long-term strategy of strengthening their academy, with the club investing in emerging talent capable of progressing through the development pathway towards senior football.
For Dundee United, the transfer highlights the club’s ability to produce players who attract interest from clubs higher up the football pyramid. The agreed compensation package ensures the Scottish side will receive a fee for one of their academy graduates under the relevant youth development regulations.
Hutchison will now look to establish himself within Everton’s academy ranks as he begins the next stage of his career, with the opportunity to develop in one of English football’s leading youth systems.
