Ancelotti to keep Everton at Finch Farm during winter break

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Everton will not go abroad during this season’s winter break next month.

The players get a deserved two-week rest after the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on eighth February.

When speaking in his pre-Newcastle press conference, Ancelotti said:

The plan for the winter break is to give some rest to the players, maybe four or five days rest and then start training here.

I want to stay here at Finch Farm because we have a fantastic training ground so we don’t need to move around the world and travel.

It’s better to stay here.

The Toffees will return to action on 23 February, with the tough task of playing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

We feel that this break could be crucial for Everton because it will give Ancelotti more time to work on certain areas on the training pitch for an extended period of time.

It will also help the players to rest and recover, so players who are suffering from fatigue will get the chance to get themselves back to full fitness.

We believe it is a good decision from the manager to keep the players at Finch Farm because by travelling around the world, it can do more harm than good in terms of tiredness.
