Everton could reach an away milestone this weekend as they face Watford at Vicarage Road, according to the Premier League’s official site.
The Toffees need just one point to reach the milestone of 500 away points, as they currently sit on 499 from 457 games.
A point, which would be enough to reach the milestone, would also stop Martinez’s men from falling to four consecutive league defeats – something they last did back in January 2015, after enduring a miserable Christmas period.
After a rather desolate 2015/16 league campaign so far, Martinez’s side could fall to another unwanted stat; if Everton are to fail to score this weekend, it’ll be the first time in 10 years the club has failed to score in three consecutive games.
Besides statistics and milestones, this weekend could prove more vital than many may think; a home win would see The Hornets leapfrog The Blues in the league, with the possibility of Bournemouth and Swansea doing the same. This could leave Everton in 15th place by tomorrow night – the lowest position in a disappointing season in Merseyside.
Both Everton and Watford have struggled for form in recent weeks, but a win for either side could prove vital as both sides prepare for their FA Cup semi-final ties at Wembley later this month.
