Cenk Tosun has been told by Besiktas that “the door is open” if he wishes to return from his Everton nightmare, according to The Liverpool Echo.
Tosun signed for the Toffees in January for £27m and has been involved in four games in a blue shirt. Three losses against Tottenham, Arsenal and Watford.
He has also been involved in a draw as well, at home to rock-bottom West Bromwich Albion, when Tosun was substituted off for the goalscorer, Oumar Niasse.
He is yet to claim his first Everton goal but is hoping to against top ten rivals Burnley, who haven’t won since early December and sit in seventh place.
Manager Sam Allardyce has spoken about Tosun and how hard he is finding it to adapt to English football quickly. However, Metin Albayrak, a Besiktas official, has spoken also about him saying (via Liverpool Echo):
Cenk Tosun is like one of our sons. We have a special place in our hearts for him. Yes we are still in contact with him and if he tells us he wants to return our door is open. I am, however, sure he will return to form.
So Tosun has two and a half months until the end of the season to adapt to English football and return to form, otherwise, the critics will be worse than ever and could pave the way for his flight back to Turkey.
