Bournemouth 1-0 Everton: Five things we learned

Everton slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, ending the Toffees unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

The Blues were looking to bounce back from their defeat to Norwich in the EFL cup in midweek but instead nothing looked to have changed, bar the perpetrators.

Gareth Barry, Ross Barkley, Bryan Oviedo, Yannick Bolasie and more were heavily criticised for their performance with Everton offering little threat to a Bournemouth side who stayed solid throughout.

Junior Stanislas put the Cherries ahead in the first half after he was left unmarked from distance, planting a right-footed shot into the top corner of Maarten Stekelenburg’s net.

The Toffees offered very little in response and will now be looking to put their miserable week behind them as they play host to Crystal Palace next Friday evening.

Without further ado, here are five things we learned this afternoon.

matchday.
