Leicester City are due to open up new contract talks with Everton and Spurs target Demarai Gray, according to the Mirror.
With Riyad Mahrez looking ever more likely to leave the Midlands club this summer, Leicester want to ensure that they tie down the highly rated youngster and don’t lose him this summer too.
Gray made just nine Premier League starts for Leicester last season and is now attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs.
Craig Shakespeare had already tried earlier this month to reassure Gray of his first-team prospects for next season and insisted that he has a vital role still to play for the club.
Gray joined Leicester back in the January of 2016 from Championship side Birmingham City for a fee of £3.5 million. The England Under-21 international signed a deal at the club until the summer of 2020, however, he currently earns just £25,000 a week – a lot less than the club’s senior players, such as Jamie Vardy who earns £100,000 a week.
Gray is not believed to have a buy-out clause in his contract and Leicester are now willing to give the winger a hefty new deal in order to keep him at the club.
