You’ve never, ever, shone so brightly.
Goodison was in raptures tonight, and the players responded in full They knew what Everton meant, they remembered who they were playing for. Everton. That was Everton.
The iron lungs if Everton were glowing blue hot tonight after Ashley Williams netted that winner, and the subsequent heroic stops by Mori and Coleman followed. (This is a bit of an emotional piece, but bloody hell it’s warranted).
To get the negativity out of the way now, first 20 minutes were terrible, Stekelenburg needs to go.Done, moving on now…
The F****** Ev.
Every outfield player had merits to their performance tonight, and from the midfield up, flawless. We were sharp, hungry, dynamic and most of all, determined. That was a far cry from the lacklustre side we’ve become accustomed to over the past few months. That’s just better, isn’t it.
And what made it all the more sweeter is that Arsenal were bloody good tonight. Watching them play the ball is beautiful at times, Mesut Oezil especially. We shut it down. James McCarthy shut Mesut Oezil down. Save that sentence. Record it. Tell your kids. 13th December 2016.
