Everton accept bid from Nice for Morgan Schneiderlin

Everton have accepted a bid from Nice for Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports in France.

The Blues have apparently accepted an offer of €2million (£1.79m) plus bonuses for the 30-year-old, who will soon travel over to France to complete a medical.

Schneiderlin signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Everton back in January 2017, joining from Manchester United for a fee of around £20m.

The former French international has played 88 times for the Blues, scoring just the one goal, and that looks to be the most he’ll go in a blue shirt with the news that this bid has been accepted.

Whilst not confirmed, it seems highly unlikely that Schneiderlin will play any games between now and the end of the delayed Premier League season for Everton.

It’s fair to say that Schneiderlin’s Everton career has been disapointing.

Bad form, injuries and constant managerial changed did little to help the Frenchman and it looks like Everton have accepted an offer jut to get him off the wage bill.

Whilst the transfer won’t do much in terms of generating much revenue for Everton, it will get Schneiderlin’s salat off the wage bill, and given that Everton’s players have taken wage deferrals due to current events, that will be a welcome boost to the club’s finances.
