Many Everton fans have called for Marco Silva to give Anthony Gordon a chance in the first team this season, after another impressive display for the Under-23s.
Everton posted footage of Gordon playing for David Unsworth’s side on their official Twitter account, after his mazy run resulted in an equalising goal for the Toffees against Manchester City’s U23 side.
And following the post, these fans were full of praise for the striker, with one supporter in particular comparing him to Wayne Rooney.

Gordon certainly appears to be one of the brightest youngsters in the Everton youth setup and a first team chance surely can’t be too far away, especially given how easily he made his run look against City’s U23s.
And while it may be slightly too early to start making comparison’s to Rooney, Gordon is no doubt a player that supporters can get excited about.
