Everton in row with Dutch FA over Koeman wage payments

Everton are in a row with the Dutch FA after it has emerged that the Toffees are now paying the large majority of his current wage as manager of the Netherlands, according to The Liverpool Echo.

It is believed that his current wage is less than 10% of when he was in the hot seat at Goodison Park, with Everton making up the rest under terms of his sacking in October.

This is nothing new as when previous manager Roberto Martinez was given more than £10m when he was given the boot at the end of the 2015/16 season.

It is believed that Everton are now understandably not very happy when the details of the Dutch manager’s wage were revealed.

Koeman’s legal team have negotiated terms with Everton in his contract where the Toffees will make up the difference of his next job and he will receive the £6m which he was on per annum while in Merseyside.

That wage which he was given after moving to Goodison Park from Southampton made him one of the highest paid managers in the Premier League.

Koeman’s contract as manager of his nation runs out after the 2022 World Cup, but after his appointment, there was no comment on the wage.

In addition, there has been no comment recently from Everton after the wage details were confirmed.
