Everton have made an enquiry to Girona about the availability of defender Juanpe, according to Spanish newspaper Sport, as translated by Sport Witness.
Freiburg and Sevilla are also interested in the 27-year-old who signed for Girona back in 2016.
Sport’s report claims that Juanpe’s preference would be to continue playing in Spain, although he has not completely ruled out a move to England or Germany.
Marco Silva is known for building teams with a strong defence and it seems like he isn’t completely happy with the centre-back options he currently has at his disposal at Everton.
Therefore, it makes sense that he is looking at other options and it seems that Juanpe is one of the men on Everton’s radar.
With Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka now in the latter stages of their respective careers, it would not be a shock to see the Toffees make a move for a defender in the coming weeks.
