Everton are not in talks with Lyon over a move for Bertrand Traore despite suggestions in the French media, but should the Toffees look to sign the winger?
The Liverpool Echo have dismissed claims made by Telefoot on Sunday morning suggesting Everton and Lyon were in talks over a move for Traore, and believe Burkina Faso is not likely to be on the Toffees’ radar this summer.
But should he be?

Everton are reportedly looking to sign a forward this summer, and Traore would certainly strengthen Marco Silva’s side, as well as fitting in with the Toffees transfer policy.
The 23-year-old has been a consistent figure for Lyon following his move from Chelsea two summers ago, with regular first team football helping develop the winger into a fine attacking player.
Traore has scored 29 goals and created 12 assists for the Ligue 1 side in all competitions in his two seasons with Lyon, emphasising the winger’s ability to both find the back of the net consistently and find his teammates.
Signing the 23-year-old would also add versatility to Everton’s attacking output, with Traore able to play on either wing and as a central striker.

Furthermore, the Burkina Faso international has experience in both the Champions League and Europa League which would be a boost for the Toffees should they qualify for Europe once again.
Everton would likely have to pay a relatively large sum to land Traore, though, given the state of the current transfer market and how the winger still has three years left on his current contract with Lyon.
However, he certainly has the ability to make an impact at Goodison Park and be an asset to Silva’s side.
