Everton at the 2026 World Cup: How to follow the Toffees

Share
  • A handful of Everton players are heading across the Atlantic for the World Cup.
  • Long-time vets Pickford (England) and Gana (Senegal) lead Toffees’ representation.
  • The Blues match up against major global opponents like Brazil, France, and Croatia.

With the domestic season now over, attention turns to the upcoming World Cup in Mexico, USA and Canada.

While Everton won’t boast the largest contingent of players heading to the tournament, the handful of Toffees are making the trip.

For the Everton faithful looking to track their players across the Atlantic, here’s all the information you need to follow the Blues on the world stage:

England

Jordan Pickford

England’s number one (despite near constant media pressure for him not to be) is preparing for his third World Cup, this time under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel. A constant fixture for the Three Lions since 2017, Pickford heads into the tournament with 82 caps – all of them starts – and 43 clean sheets. Expect him to be the foundation of England’s push for glory. Also expect the media to go for the jugular if he makes the smallest mistake.

  • Group L: Croatia, England, Ghana, Panama

Schedule (UK Times):

  • June 17: England v Croatia, Dallas Stadium, Arlington –9pm
  • June 23: England v Ghana, Boston Stadium, Foxborough –9pm
  • June 27: England v Panama, New Jersey Stadium, East Rutherford –10pm

Scotland

Nathan Patterson

“Patto” has had a frustrating time at club level. Injury, inconsistency and a succession of managers evidently ‘not fancying’ him, his Everton career has been disappointing. However, his standing with the Tartan Army is entirely different. Named to Scotland’s 26-man roster, the 24-year-old right-back will look to push Brentford’s Aaron Hickey for a starting spot.

Group C: Haiti, Morocco, Brazil, Scotland

Schedule (UK Times):

  • Haiti vs Scotland: Sunday 14th June, Boston Stadium, Foxborough, 2am
  • Scotland vs Morocco: Friday 19th June, Boston Stadium, Foxborough, 11pm
  • Scotland vs Brazil: Wednesday 24th June, Miami Stadium, Miami, 11pm

Senegal

Idrissa Gana Gueye

Everton’s veteran midfield enforcer is gearing up for his third World Cup appearance. At 36 years old, Gana remains indispensable for the Lions of Teranga, holding their all-time appearance record with 131 international caps. After a chaotic Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, Gana and Senegal arrive at the World Cup with a serious point to prove.

Iliman Ndiaye

Joining Gana in the Senegal camp is Everton’s dazzling winger Iliman Ndiaye. Having only made his international bow back in 2022, Ndiaye’s creative spark and excellent technical form make him a crucial component of his country’s frontline as they look to navigate the tournament’s tricky opening stages.

Group I: Senegal, France, Iraq, Norway

  • June 16 – France vs Senegal, New Jersey Stadium, East Rutherford – 9pm
  • June 23 – Norway vs Senegal, New Jersey Stadium, East Rutherford – 2am
  • June 26 – Senegal vs Iraq, BMO Field, Toronto Stadium, Toronto – 9pm
