Everton plotting swoops for Ramsey and Bale

Everton are reportedly lining up a double swoop for Welsh duo Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.

According to an exclusive report from 90Min, Everton are eyeing up the Real Madrid and Juventus stars as they look to improve their squad this summer.

The report claims that club officials have held talks over moves for both players, due to them being unsettled with their current clubs.

Everton making a move for either Ramsey or Bale seems unrealistic at this stage. The Blues are not in a position to fight for European football for next season at the moment, with other clubs possibly being able to offer Bale Champions League or even Europa League football.

Bale is also on a reported £350k-per-week and Everton may not be able to meet his demands. Their current highest earner, according to Spotrac, is Yerry Mina on £120k-a-week. Would Everton be able to almost triple the wages of their current highest earner to bring in a 30-year-old with two league goals this season? It remains to be seen.

Bale has had an impressive career, winning the Champions League four times with Real and being named Premier League Player of the Season whilst at Spurs. However, he has scored three goals in 18 appearances this season and there is nothing to suggest that he will suddenly reignite the form of his younger days, making it a very risky signing for Everton.

That being said, given the stature of both Ramsey and Bale, it would have to be seen as a major coup for Everton if they could somehow get a deal for the pair over the line.
