- Everton head into the summer with another big transfer window planned.
- After missing out on European football, the need for more quality is clear.
- The Toffees are currently monitoring several players in the Championship.
Everton’s need for more quality has been greatly exposed in recent weeks.
After failing to win in their past six matches, David Moyes’ squad have looked depleted, and more bodies must be added in the upcoming window.
It has been confirmed that the Scotsman will be backed in the window, so multiple additions are to be expected.
The Toffees have already started to look at talent in the Championship, and this winger would be one man who makes a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Leo Scienza is attracting interest from Everton
Leo Scienza has been a star man in his debut season at Southampton and is attracting interest from multiple top-flight clubs, including Everton, according to Sky Sports.
The Brazilian arrived from Bundesliga side FC Heidenheim last summer, and has since been one of the Saints’ key playmakers.
| League Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 37 | 7 | 10 |
At 27-years-old, the winger has already played for multiple clubs and gathered experience at various levels on the football pyramid.
He made his name in Germany and dominated in the sixth tier with FC Magdeburg II, after bagging 13 goals in 10 appearances with them.
Good performances then led to him being signed by SSV Ulm in the 3. Liga in 2023, and just a year later, he was called up to the Bundesliga by FC Heidenheim.
Now with Southampton, he helped his side reach the FA Cup semi finals and achieve a spot in the Championship play-offs.
Leo Scienza’s move will hinge on Southampton’s current season
Southampton are waiting to hear a verdict from their ‘Spygate’ hearing after a member of staff was caught watching a Middlesbrough training session before their play-off clash.
If Tonda Eckert’s side manage to walk away punishment-free, they will be a match away from a return to the Premier League.
On the flipside, there is a possibility that the Saints are booted out of the play-offs, and with that, their chance of promotion would be taken from them.
Failure to gain promotion could see Scienza make a move away from St Mary’s Stadium, with multiple top-flight clubs sniffing around for the Brazilian.
The winger has a track record of short stays with clubs in his career, and he will still consider a move away from the south coast if the right club comes swooping in for him.
