We’re going into the fourth league game of the season with seven players unavailable already, those being Idrissa Gana Gueye, André Gomes, Richarlison, Phil Jagielka, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Bernard.
That does look pretty grim, but we have far stronger depth in the squad this season as opposed to last campaign. There are players who have stepped up, and others who still need to stake a claim for a regular spot. I think some of Wednesday night’s standouts may be in with a shout (and certainly for me, one of them is, have a guess) as if not, then there isn’t really a point in promoting earning a spot if Leighton Baines for example plays again at the weekend.
Huddersfield are just coming off of a draw with Cardiff, and to be honest, we should be getting all three points from this game with not much effort. We need to continue our good start going into the international break and beyond, as all things considered, it really is a kind start to the season.
