Something different this time around.
It’s getting dull, predicting Ronald Koeman’s 11 when we know it’ll be the same 13 or 14 players in the squad. It’s harking back to Martinez’ Favourites, and I’m getting bored of that.
So, it’s time to scrap this recycling process of has-been’s, wont-be’s and are-not’s. Well, for the most part.
There has been some utterly abysmal performances over the last few weeks- bordering into months now – and January can’t come soon enough. I reckon there has been about 10 or 11 players who don’t make the cut for the Everton squad going forward. These being :
Stekelenburg, Jagielka, Coleman (On current form), Gibson, McCarthy, Lennon, Deulofeu, Niassé, Koné, Mirallas (On current form) and Cleverley.
I’ve been a great advocate of Tom Cleverley, for a start, but he hasn’t got the quality needed to push onwards. Stekelenburg is most certainly not the answer for Goalkeeping woes, and as much as I – and I speak for the majority of fans here – love Kevin Mirallas, he needs to find his game again or he’ll be just another run of the mill, below par winger, which we have in abundance.
Of course, it’ll be a slow transition, and in the meantime, we’ll have to make do with what we have.
So, how do we make do? Here’s my take…
