You know, these night games are usually boss. Well, they used to be anyway, especially that Chelsea game last season. I’m pretty young, so that was far and away my best night at Goodison. The atmosphere was overwhelming, and all of the players gave all that they had. I probably would have given every player a 10 on that night.
What happened?
Goodison’s dead, as are the players that inhabit it. It doesn’t show any signs of getting better for a long time, and it doesn’t seem like any of the players are that bothered about it.
We’re probably going to lose to Arsenal, and we’re probably going to play really badly. Same old then.
Right then, that’s the positivity out of the way.
Do we have any chance? Well, we’ve beaten Arsenal with a similar crop of players before, but we’re missing the key part of that win. Steven Naismith. How a player like him is so sorely missed. He cared.
Rotation needs to be made, we need fresh ideas. It might involve throwing some kids in at the deep end, but we don’t have a choice. They’ll sink or swim regardless.
Come on Koeman, just give it a go.
