Fresh from a fine performance at the Stadium of Light against Sunderland, Everton host another North-East outfit in the shape of newly promoted Middlesbrough.
The Toffees will be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to life under Ronald Koeman and will fancy their chances against Aitor Karanka’s side, after Romelu Lukaku’s eleven-minute hat-trick helped them to a comfortable 3-0 victory at Sunderland on Monday night.
‘Boro haven’t tasted victory at Goodison in the league since May 2000 and have had a mixed start to life back in the top division. They go into the game off the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace, a defeat worsened by the fact it was only Palace’s third Premier League victory in 2016.
A win will see The Blues potentially go top of the Premier League, albeit at an early stage of the season, should Pep Guardiola and Manchester City slip up at home to Bournemouth.
I now take a look back at our previous four meetings with the Teessiders.
